Campus-Wide Election
About the Campus-Wide Election
During each spring semester, many different positions open up for campus leadership opportunities. Positions become available in the Graduate Student Assembly, Student Government, Texas Student Media, University Co-op, and the University Unions. These opportunities are fulfilled by students who file to become candidates and participate in the Campus-Wide Election. The Campus-Wide Election is an important opportunity for all students to make connections across campus, serve our fellow Longhorns, and engage in productive dialog about the University we call home. Whether you run for an elected position, campaign for someone who does, or share your voice through your vote, the entire Campus-Wide Election process is a chance for all of us to exemplify our University tagline and show that what starts here changes the world.

Election Supervisory Board
The Election Supervisory Board (ESB) is charged with conducting and overseeing all student elections, including those required by the Student Government Constitution and by other university policy-making boards or administrative bodies that refer to the ESB in their election codes. This includes the fall Student Government First-Year Elections and the spring Campus-Wide Election. During the election season, disputes and grievances are heard by the ESB, and their decisions may be appealed through an appellate procedure as well.
The selection process for ESB takes place each fall. Please refer to the Campus-Wide Election Code for additional details pertaining to eligibility, duties and procedures related to ESB.
If you have any questions, please email the SGO Advisor at sgoadvisors@austin.utexas.edu.
ESB FAQs
What are the eligibility requirements needed to apply to the ESB?
Through an application and interview process, nine (9) student applicants will be selected to comprise the ESB. To be eligible, applicants:

- **Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average; and,
- Must not be serving a disciplinary penalty.
**First-year students (graduate and undergraduate) are eligible to apply. If selected, the offer would be contingent upon the successful completion of the fall semester and achieving at least a 2.5 GPA.
