About Safety
Being a student at UT is exciting, challenging, and full of opportunities to lead. With that leadership comes the responsibility to help keep you—and the broader Longhorn community—safe, informed, and prepared. Whether you're planning events, traveling as a group, or building a strong team culture, knowing how to recognize risks and respond effectively is essential.
We're here to support you with resources and guidance that help your organization thrive while putting safety first.

Safety Education
The Safety Education Program introduces important resources related to risk management, prevention, and emergency response. While annual participation is required for registered and sponsored organizations, all UT students are welcome to take part in the Safety Education Officer Workshop.

Hazing Prevention & Response
To help foster a safer and more respectful campus culture, the Office of the Dean of Students provides a comprehensive hazing prevention and response resource. This site offers education and training to prevent hazing, guidance on reporting violations, access to support services, and a list of student organizations found in violation of hazing policies.

Registered Student Organization Travel
Student organizations planning overnight trips or traveling more than 25 miles from campus are required to register their travel in advance. The Office of the Dean of Students provides guidelines to help organizations prepare and follow safety policies based on their destination.
