Welcome to the Office of the Dean of Students

The Office of the Dean of Students is committed to helping all students at The University of Texas at Austin reach their fullest potential. Our office provides a variety of student support services along with opportunities for leadership experience, diverse student work environments, engaging programming and specialized resources.

The Office of the Dean of Students includes eight specialized units: Legal Services for Students, Legislative Student Organizations, Sorority and Fraternity Life, Student Activities, Student Conduct and Academic Integrity, Student Emergency Services, Texas Leadership Education and Development, and Veteran and Military Affiliated Services.

Our office manages and supports a variety of financial awards to recognize excellence among our students.

OUR UNITS

The Office of the Dean of Students is made up of eight unique and specialized units providing valuable support services along with leadership experience and personal growth opportunities through organizations and programming.

LEGAL SERVICES FOR STUDENTS
Free consultation referral and limited representation including landlord-tenant questions, misdemeanors including alcohol offenses, and other issues for enrolled students.
LEGISLATIVE STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
Staff advise the Graduate Student Assembly, the Senate of College Councils, and Student Government to help them each achieve their mission.
SORORITY AND FRATERNITY LIFE
Supports and Advises six councils and affiliate organizations through leadership programming, mentoring and classroom opportunities.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Supports 1,200 student organizations. Connects organizations to resources and supports planning for successful student-led programming.
STUDENT CONDUCT AND ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
Investigates alleged student misconduct, and works with students, faculty, and staff to promote academic integrity and appropriate conduct.
STUDENT EMERGENCY SERVICES
Supports students during personal emergencies or crises with programs including UT Outpost and the Interpersonal Peer Support program.
TEXAS LEADERSHIP EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT
A centralized, comprehensive leadership development institute offering innovative, award-winning programs to all students.
VETERAN AND MILITARY AFFILIATED SERVICES
Supports veterans, military personnel and their families with information and resources to make the most of their educational experience.
STUDENT ELECTIONS
Our office oversees elections for Student Government, the Graduate Student Assembly, Texas Student Media, the University Co-op, and University Unions.
