Senate of College Councils Academic Improvement Scholarship
The Senate of College Councils Academic Improvement Scholarship is designed to reward undergraduate students who have shown significant improvement in academics despite performing poorly in previous academic years. To be eligible, you must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student, have had a semester with a GPA lower than 2.7 and improved your GPA by at least 0.5 grade points in the coming semesters. An applicant must have made significant improvements to their GPA, and should have taken steps to ensure that they retain this academic success with the use of UT's academic resources (e.g. Sanger Learning Center, Writing Center, Counseling and Mental Health Center, etc.)
Applications will be evaluated based on the quality of the short answer responses along with the GPA requirements listed above.
Students who are currently serving as a member of the Senate of the College Councils are not eligible to apply.
If selected to be a recipient of the Academic Improvement Scholarship, you will be ineligible to receive the award a second time.

Senate of College Councils Non-Traditional Student Scholarship
The Senate of College Councils is proud to offer the Non-Traditional Student Scholarship to eligible UT Austin students. For this scholarship, a non-traditional student is considered any undergraduate student who is one or more of the following:
- External transfer student
- A veteran
- A student over the age of 25 pursuing their first bachelor's degree
- An international student
- A first-generation student
- A student who is a parent
Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply:
- Must have attended UT Austin for at least two long semesters
- Have maintained a Currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be considered a 'non-traditional' student as outlined above
Students who are currently serving as a member of the Senate of the College Councils are not eligible to apply.
Applications will be scored in consideration of the applicants' past experiences (including career and internships) and involvement on campus and in the community.
Application
The fall 2024 online scholarship application form will open at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 23 and close at 11 p.m. on Sunday, October 1.
UT Senate of College Councils' William Powers Jr. Endowed Scholarship
The Senate of College Councils is tasked with serving as the official voice for students in academics. Senate currently awards a myriad of scholarships and is proud to offer the Senate of College Councils' William Powers Jr. Endowed Scholarship.
As president of The University of Texas at Austin, Bill Powers oversaw a record-breaking capital campaign and defended and bolstered UT's role as a world-class institution. In his honor, the Senate of College Councils' William Powers Jr. Endowed Scholarship fund was created.

As the official voice for students in academics, Senate of College Councils awards a myriad of scholarships and is proud to offer the William Powers Jr. Endowed Scholarship to student leaders each year.
All applications will be evaluated by the Senate of College Councils William Powers Endowed Scholarship Board on the basis of academic excellence and leadership abilities with specific emphasis on the following four components:
- Contribution to the University
- Community involvement
- Organizational involvement
- Job/work involvement
Financial need shall be applied to decide between equally meritorious students with comparable leadership abilities.
Undergraduate and graduate students who are currently serving as a member of the Senate of the College Councils are not eligible to apply.

The fall 2024 online scholarship application form will open at 8 a.m. on Monday, October 7 and close at 11 p.m. on Sunday, October 20.
Senate of College Councils Study Abroad Scholarship
The Senate of College Councils Study Abroad Scholarship is designed to assist a student studying abroad in an upcoming academic year.
To qualify for this scholarship applicants must have attended UT for at least two semesters or must currently be enrolled in your 2nd semester (classification after completion of the Spring 2022 semester). Students must also currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and must be in good academic standing. Applicants will be scored in consideration of the applicant’s merit, financial need, and acceptance to a UT affiliated study abroad.
This scholarship is open to all undergraduate students, including international students, who are studying abroad in Maymester or Summer 2023 Programs. Students who are currently serving in an elected or appointed Senate Internal or External position and those serving on any Ad-Hoc Committees are not eligible to apply.

This application will open in spring 2025.
