How to Join: Information for Recruitment 2021

The Panhellenic chapters at the University of Texas are excited to welcome new members into their organizations this August. Though current circumstances will require recruitment to look different than it has in the past, the core of our process remains: to facilitate students in joining a Panhellenic organization that best fits their values and will enhance their collegiate experience through the transformative power of sorority membership.

To prioritize the health and safety of all involved in the recruitment process, recruitment events will take place in a hybrid format. The first events of our process, Open House, Philanthropy, and Sisterhood rounds, will all take place virtually via Zoom. Preference Round and Bid Day will take place in-person with the option for anyone to participate in these events virtually.

Panhellenic Primary Recruitment is a structured process that occurs the week before classes begin each fall semester. Throughout the week, by a process of mutual selection, both chapters and potential new members will narrow their choices. At UT Austin, the majority of members join their organization through the primary recruitment process; however qualifying chapters may also have opportunities to join outside of this time period and throughout the year.

A Note to PACE Students

Students participating in the Pathway to Admission through Co-Enrollment, also known as PACE, will have access to all of the benefits and privileges of a full time student at UT Austin. Participating in extracurricular activities, such as joining a sorority and fraternity, is encouraged and will enhance your experience in college.

It is important to note that our sorority and fraternity partners each have individual membership requirements. Membership decisions are the sole responsibility of the organization. We would encourage you to consult with the national organizations should you have questions about eligibility requirements.
