Leadership Education and Progress (LEAP)
Open to all students at The University of Texas at Austin, Leadership Education and Progress (LEAP) is a free leadership development program focused on building an ethical and socially responsible foundation of leadership.
This fun, interactive workshop series provides the knowledge and tools to prepare students for leadership on the Forty Acres and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity for self-exploration and will help reframe the idea of leadership as a process, rather than a position. Additionally, as a participant students will engage with a community to share, discuss, and reflect on a broad range of topics with coaching from a peer mentor.
Participants in the LEAP program will benefit from:
- Creating a leadership action plan to guide their student experience
- Understanding the concept of values-based leadership
- Building a professional and social network of peers
- Learning to engage as an ethical and inclusive leader
LEAP meets once a week for seven weeks. In the FALL 2020 semester, there will be two session options offered online (via Zoom) to participants:
Bold White Cohort:
Tuesdays from 5pm-6:30pm - September 29th - November 10th
Burnt Orange Cohort:
Wednesdays from 5pm-6:30pm - September 30th - November 11th
The LEAP Program culminates with a graduation celebration on the final week of the program. In order to graduate as an Exemplary Leader, you must attend all six sessions and complete your Leadership Action Plan. If you attend less than six sessions, you will graduate as a Progressive Leader.
