Catalyst is a one-day retreat that focuses on your personal and leadership development. How does this relate to the Good Standing Program?

Each fraternity and sorority chapter is required to register at least one member for this event. Based on the registration list and responses, if your member is selected to attend, he or she must be your chapter's representative to receive Good Standing credit.

Who should register?

Catalyst is primarily focused on authentic leadership, collaboration, and creating something extraordinary. While any member of the sorority and fraternity community is invited to apply, it is designed for emerging leaders and new officers. Please encourage motivated members, change agents, and leaders of your organization to apply!

How much does Catalyst cost to attend?

There is no cost to attend, but we will require an upfront deposit to hold your seat. The Catalyst retreat is fully funded through a generous donor's contribution to Sorority and Fraternity Life. Your members will not need to cover any costs including food.

Is this like The Institute?

The Institute, a program provided in partnership with Sorority and Fraternity Life in the Office of the Dean of Students and LeaderShape, is an intensive energizing, six-day leadership development program focused on leading with integrity and a healthy disregard for the impossible. By enhancing self-awareness, community, vision setting, and leadership practices, participants will develop strategies to make positive change. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, small group discussions, and large group sessions led by trained facilitators.

This program was created and developed by the same organization who started The Institute, and captures some of the content from The Institute in the workshop. The intent is a one day program to begin your journey into an extraordinary trajectory.
