Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD) offers the following workshops for student organizations throughout the semester. We hope that these workshops will help your organization become more familiar with policy and procedure, learn new skills, and get to know the SALD staff better.

To sign up for any workshop, call the Student Organization Center at 471-3065 to register. All officers and members of student organizations are welcome to attend any of these workshops. Call us and reserve your space today!

Funding Workshop

Facilitated by Joanna Pope of the Student Organization Bank
Please come join us to learn about the different funding sources available for your Registered Student Organization. We will have a representative from the Texas Union Events Co-Sponsorship Committee, The University Co-op, Senate of College Councils, Texas Parents, Student Government, and Graduate Student Assembly to talk with registered student organizations about how your organization can receive funding. New Organization/New Officer Orientation

As a student leader, it is important to understand your organization's rights and responsibilities. This orientation will highlight campus resources, university policy, and the Student Organization Manual.

Treasurers' Workshop

Facilitated by Susan Trejo of the Student Organization Bank

All authorized bank representatives are required to participate and learn about the Student Organization bank.

The Treasurers' Workshop is designed to teach new banking authorized representatives how to use the Student Organization Bank, including writing checks and making deposits. We will review the expectations for record keeping and reconciliation of your account so that you are in compliance with all university regulations. Additionally, you will become familiar with the other services that the Student Organization Bank offers, including ticketing, EIN's, and tax issues. All authorized bank representatives are required to attend the Treasurers' Workshop every other year, but are not required to attend the same session.
