Phi Chi Theta
Online Organization Registration
Type:
Professional
Purpose:
Phi Chi Theta is a national professional fraternity for students in Business and Economics established in 1924 to promote the cause of higher business education and training for all individuals to foster high ideals for all pursuing careers, to encourage fraternity and cooperation among people preparing for such careers, and to stimulate the spirit of sacrifice and unselfish devotion to the attainment of such ends.
Membership:
Membership in Phi Chi Theta is open to UT Austin students working for a degree in Business or Economics who have at least second semester standing and a 2.25 grade point average.
Functions:
Phi Chi Theta's primary interest is professionalism, both as an organization and in its members. We meet regularly to discuss chapter business and talk with speakers from various business fields. We also sponsor seminars and lectures, sometimes with other business organizations within the College of Business Administration, and take a field trip each semester. Although Phi Chi Theta is a professional organi- zation, we do become close friends through working with each other.
