2008 Glenn Maloney Memorial Scholarship

Overview

This scholarship is given in memory of Glenn W. Maloney. Glenn served The University of Texas students for 19 years, the last seven as Associate Dean of Students. The Glenn Maloney Memorial Scholarship was established to remember Glenn's countless contributions to UT Austin and to recognize the students he loved. Through this scholarship, Glenn's enduring legacy will be to continue helping the students whose lives he enriched.

Scholarships

Three scholarships for a minimum of $300 will be awarded in 2008. If funding is available, additional scholarships will be awarded.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Glenn Maloney Endowed Memorial Scholarship must be currently enrolled students who have demonstrated a commitment to The University of Texas at Austin and to improving the quality of student life for current and future students. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required, and the recipient cannot be on disciplinary probation or deferred suspension.

Application process and deadline

Completed applications, with the required essay, must be received no later than Friday, February 29, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. Applications may be submitted in paper form to the Student Organization Center Desk (SSB 4.102) or via e-mail to Cindy Braly, cbraly@mail.utexas.edu. Applications submitted via e-mail must include a statement authorizing SALD Staff to verify your academic and disciplinary record in lieu of a signature.

Selection

A selection committee will choose recipient(s) who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the quality of student life for current and future students. In the event the committee selects multiple outstanding finalists, financial need may be a consideration in determining the final recipient(s). Recipients will be notified in late March and recognized at the Student Affairs Leadership Awards Reception on April 11, 2008.
