Sound Equipment

The Student Organization Center maintains sound equipment for use by registered student organizations. If you have any questions about the sound equipment, please contact the Student Organization Center (SOC).

West Mall Sound System

To have access to the West Mall sound system, you must already have a West Mall outdoor space reservation. An authorized member of your organization must check out the key from the Student Organization Center on the day of the reservation, no earlier than 11 a.m. The $10 fee is due when the key is picked up and a UT ID will be taken. The key must be returned to the SOC after the event. Don't forget to lock the sound system securely in the Main Building after you use it!

Portable Sound Equipment

Use of other sound equipment is on a first-come, first-serve reservation basis to registered organizations in good standing. Sound equipment applications must be submitted no later than 2 business days before the proposed equipment pick-up date. A deposit and rental fee is required for some items. The deposit must be paid at the time the sound equipment application is submitted in order to hold the reservation. Rental fees will be paid on date of pick-up.

The organization is financially responsible for returning the equipment in its entirety at the end of the approved time. Failure to do so will incur a $50 late fee. If equipment is not returned with in one week, full replacement cost will be charged.

Failure to return the equipment in good working condition may prohibit its use by the student organization in the future.

Portable Sound Equipment Available at the Student Organization Center

Note - Sound equipment rentals at the Student Organization Center will cease from Friday, March 7, 2008 to Monday, March 17, 2008 in order to accommodate necessary repairs and/or replacements.
