Outdoor Space Reservations

All academic and administrative units wishing to reserve outdoor space on campus do so through the Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD) area in the Office of the Dean of Students. Departmental reservation requests can be submitted up to one year in advance of a department's event.

In order to reserve outdoor space on campus, a departmental representative should send an e-mail to sald@uts.cc.utexas.edu with "Departmental Request" in the subject matter. The following information should be included in this e-mail:

  1. The location of the campus space you are requesting.
  2. The start and end times of your event, including set up and break down times, if appropriate.
  3. A contact name and phone number of the person responsible for the event. This person should be someone who will be available on the date of your request to handle any issues that may come up.
  4. A brief description of the event or activity.

SALD is only responsible for reserving the campus space you are requesting. Questions and concerns regarding university policy, physical plant needs, and other issues related to the event should be handled through your department.

You will find information regarding institutional rules on speech, expression, and assembly in the Institutional Rules on Student Services and Activities.

Travel

University departments who are sponsoring student travel should follow the Student Travel Policy for University Organized or Sponsored Events. Questions regarding university organized or sponsored travel should be handled through your department or directed to the Vice President for Student Affairs office at 471-1133.
