Events and Activities

Student organizations create excitement and vibrancy on the UT Austin campus through their countless events and activities. These events reflect the culture, personality, and diversity of the student body and student organizations. Student organization events educate, inform, entertain, and enrich the university community. Student leaders and volunteers have the opportunity to learn and grow through the process of planning and running these events and activities.

Our job in Student Activities and Leadership Development is to promote student involvement on campus, help student organizations accomplish their goals, and broaden student impact on campus. We do this through our Orientation Sessions for new officers and new organizations, one-on-one consultations with student organizations, and through information in our Web site and our Student Organization Manual (4.5 MB .pdf). Additionally, we help interpret the Institutional Rules that govern all activities on campus.

Explore the links in this section to learn more about specific aspects of event planning on the UT campus. The topics here reflect the most common issues that arise in student organization event planning. However, we are always available to answer questions and help your organization accomplish its goals.
