Sources of Funds
If your organization needs money for programs and events, the following organizations may be a good place to begin. These organizations have money available for the purpose of funding activities for registered student organizations.
Senate of College Councils
The Senate of College Councils allocates funds to registered student organizations. Only registered student organizations may apply for Senate funding. The Senate assists organizations to create programs that will benefit the students of the university. Please feel free to visit the Senate of College Councils (SSB 4.206), or telephone 512-471-3166. For more information, visit www.utsenate.org.
Student Events Center Events CoSponsorship Committee
An organization that would like to receive funds from this committee must be a registered student organization in good standing with the Texas Union and the university. The program in which funds are used must be of interest and open to the general UT Austin community. Emphasis will be placed on those programs that benefit the greatest number of people on the UT Austin campus. Visit the Students Events Center Events CoSponsorship Committee at www.utexas.edu/txunion/sec/ecc/about.php?section=ecc for current information about applying for funds.
Student Government
Student Government appropriates funds each fall and spring to various student organizations in support of their projects. A Student Government Representative must be contacted to sponsor your organization and to represent your request to the Appropriations Committee of the Assembly. A list of SG Representatives can be found on the Student Government Web site at www.utsg.org. For more information, visit the Student Government Office (SSB 4.206), or telephone 512-471-3166.
Texas Parents
Texas Parents offers Parents' Fund Grants to student organizations each spring semester. The funding is made possible through the contributions and generous donations of UT Austin parents to the Texas Parents' Fund. Grants are awarded to successful applicants who are working to enhance and enrich the student experience at UT Austin by addressing and impacting a student need. For more information, visit www.texasparents.org.
University Co-op
Each semester the University Co-op allocates $100,000 to registered student organizations to help with programs and events for the direct benefit of students at The University of Texas at Austin. The Co-op makes funding decisions through the Special Requests Committee that consists of faculty and student board members. You may submit your application online at www.utcoop.org.
