Welcome to Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD)! Life outside the classroom at The University of Texas is as varied and active as UT students. SALD's primary mission is to support student organizations and leadership development programming.

SALD helps students make the most of their college experience through involvement in student organizations.Whether you would like to join an existing student organization or begin a new one, we have the resources and staff to help you make it happen. We encourage you to learn about the services we provide, the leadership opportunities available to all students, and the SALD Staff!

Many of your questions may be answered on this Web site but we welcome you to stop by our office (SSB 4.400) anytime with your questions, ideas or concerns. Stop by and create the type of college experience you always dreamed about by becoming an active student leader at UT.

Mission Statement

As educators, Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD) serves students by facilitating their growth, passion, and enthusiasm through involvement in student organizations and co-curricular activities in conjunction with the Office of the Dean of Students and the university community. SALD advocates for student organizations by providing guidance and support within the framework of the institutional rules while creating an inclusive community and sense of belonging for all students.
