Global Leadership CenterThe Global Leadership Center (GLC) is founded as a collaborative effort of student organizations in the arena of international involvement, awareness, and exchange. The GLC is dedicated to make the global resources available at The University of Texas at Austin more accessible to the student body and empower students to transform their ideas into action with he support from experienced global-minded leaders.We plan to organize future Act local, Think Global conferences, as well as to bring more involvement in the International Education week from student organizations.
Global Student Ambassadors INACTIVETo get a group of passionate UT students who want to learn and talk about their studying abroad experiences. Ambassadors help the transition of coming back to the home campus and learning how to use the experience for good.The major activities include a general meeting every two weeks and getting involved with other campus groups to promote the helping of study abroad. Grupo Flor y CantoGrupo Flor y Canto is an education performance troupe focused on dance forms with roots in Latin America. Our members and performances also include musicians and poets. Each fall we host Las Calaeas, a free educational event for the campus community with a Dia de los Muertos theme. Each spring we host Fandango, which is also a free educational event for the campus community.Grupo Flor y Canto is committed to cultural education, and for that reason we organize a collaborative production each semester.
Hindu YUVAHindu YUVA is a non-sectarian forum to preserve, practice, and create awareness about Hindu cultural and spiritual heritage.We will hold weekly meetings geared towards personal development and activities will include doing yoga, games, discussions, and physical exercise. Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar ChapterWe focus on educating younger students about the possibilities for pursing a higher education, creating a smooth transition from high school to college for freshmen, and prepare our members for the professional world for after graduation!We will have workshops on topics such as Grad school preparation, study skills, etc. We will also have hispanic professionals speak about their experiences. Indian Students AssociationEstablished in 1954, the Indian Students Association (ISA) is currently one of the largest student organizations on campus with over 150 paid members. We are an umbrella organization that aims to connect all South Asian organizations on campus and continue to spread awareness of our philanthropic ventures. Over the past year we have donated more than $10,000 to charities all over the globe. IN the Fall, we hold events such as the ISA Shaan Awards which recognizes South Asian Excellence on campus. In the Spring, we hold our annual talent competition, TAAL, which showcases UT Talent to a crowd of over 2,000 people.We are an umbrella organization that aims to connect all South Asian organizations on campus as well as bridge the gap between faculty and students.

Kenyan International Service Society (K.I.S.S.) Longhorn American Indian Council INACTIVEThe Longhorn American Indian Council serves as the only student organization that represents the interests of American INdian students on campus. Native American & Indigenous Student Assembly (NAISA)The Native American and Indigenous Student Assembly (NAISA) is a student lead organization at the University of Texas at Austin founded in 2012 with the principles of native empowerment, research, transnational and intertribal unity, scholarship and community. We focus on the issues of indigenous students of Texas, while forming alliances and networks with students across the US and Latin America. Together we can become the next political leaders, activists and advocates for our respective communities across the globe. Additionally, NAISA seeks to bridge the gap between indigenous students and elders recognizing our responsibility to maintain our cultures, spiritualities and teachings.Our organization will focus in organizing workshops, educational forums, community gatherings and other activities with the goal of empowering and providing network opportunities for native students. Our main goal is to create consciousness about our indigenous roots as we slowly begin to fight for the survival of our cultures from northwest Arctic to Tierra de Fuego, Argentina.
Nazar - A South Asian PerspectiveNazar is UT's South Asian magazine. Nepalese Student Association- Longhorn ChapterPromote Nepalese culture on the UT campus. At meetings we will actively focus on having group discussions about issues facing the Nepalese society. Nippon Cinephiles INACTIVETo educate students about film and Japanese culture through screening of Japanese cinema.Screening of Japanese films suggested by members and discussion on critical reading of screening. Members will not only get the opportunity to see films rarely screened outside of classes, but will learn how to read and understand film and the language of cinematography through discussion.
Planet LonghornPlanet Longhorn's ultimate purpose is to provide incoming international study abroad and exchange students with the opportunity to network with each other as well as UT students. Texans for IsraelTexans for Israel (TFI) is our community for Israel engagement, education and advocacy. TFI serves as a gathering place for students who share an interest in Israel and a strong, mutually-beneficial, U.S.-Israel relationship. Since its establishment in 1991, TFI has been a force on campus, helping people exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn about and educate others on Israel's people, politics, and culture.TFI hosts guest speakers and Israel advocacy programs, as well as Israeli cultural events such as movie nights and Israel's IndepenDANCE. Additionally, TFI participates in pro-Israel lobbying, brings elected officials to campus, tables on the west mall to inform the UT community about Israel, and holds large rallies in support of Israel.
Texas Chinese Dance Company INACTIVETo foster appreciation for the art of chinese dance and increase cultural awareness within the UT community.We intend to hold weekly meetings and rehearsals, to recruit new members through an audition process, and to perform in cultural events on campus.
Texas Conjunto INACTIVEThe Texas Conjunto teaches students and other members of the UT community how to play Tex-Mex conjunto music, focusing on button accordion and bajo sexto. The group also conducts outreach through performances designed to educate the Austin community about conjunto music.The group rehearses twice a week, providing instruction on the accordion and bajo sexto. The group has 2, set performances per semester - one in the School of Music and one in a local night club. We also accept invitations to perform at community events.

Texas Going Global INACTIVETo promote study abroad. Studying Abroad is a valuable experience all college students could benefit from, but only 1% of American students study abroad. We want to raise this number by providing a place where students who have studied internationally can encourage students who have not to do so while maintaining new friendships and a place where people who want to study abroad can come to make friends in their programs.Professionals from international companies to come speak about why international study is important, social events at a variety of ethnic restaurants, movie showings, festivals, etc., service work and fundraisers to help those planning on studying abroad raise money.

The British Comedy Appreciation Society INACTIVEThe BCAS aims to foster greater understanding and appreciation of the actors, writers, television shows and films that have distinguished the British Isles as the foremost destination for those seeking a ubiquity of sarcasm and wit.As previously stated, the BCAS will host weekly screenings of the most iconic British comedy programs, to be complemented by an offering of traditional British refreshments. We will strive to reenact particularly populous scenes or skits at least once monthly, for the benefit of the Universities' faculty, staff and students.

Turkic Cultures Student AssociationTo introduce Turkic cultures to the UT community, to provide a meeting place and a learning environment for those interested in Turkic cultures, and to bring students, staff, and faculty from Turkic countries together.Major activites include but not limited to informal lectures on Turkic cultures, Turkic language courses, field trips, picnics, and live music concerts.
Turkish University Students AssociationTo promote international understanding and friendship.Sponsoring speakers and promote educational activities, sponsoring social activities, promoting Turkish studies at UT Austin.
UmojaUmoja has a mission to inspire women of color at The University of Texas at Austin to be politically and socially pro-active, culturally responsible, and resolute in empowering women.Umoja holds weekly meetings every Tuesday to discuss relevant topics that pertain to and effect women. Umoja also holds programs, both educational and social, throughout the academic school year that promote unity and academic achievement on campus.
Undergraduate French ClubWe are an organization that is dedicated to the advancement of fancophone culture in all its forms.There are weekly conversation hours for students to practice their french in a relaxed setting. We also have french culture and language related socials with French community organizations as well.
Vietnamese Students AssociationTo make friendships between Vietnamese students and other inter- national students and the University community. To exhibit Viet- namese culture whenever it is possible.Orientation for new students, monthly meetings, hold annual sports tournament for Vietnamese students in Houston, Austin, Dallas, A&M, Arlington, etc.
