Alpha Epsilon Delta - PremedTo encourage excellence in premedical scholarship; to promote cooperation and contact between premedical students and educators in premedical and medical schools in developing an adequate program of premedical education; to expose the student to many firsthand views of medicine for aiding in the final decision of his or her future; to expose students to medical schools of Texas, as well as the life of a medical student.We bring in medical speakers including doctors from a variety of specialities, medical school admissions personnel, panel of students already in medical school and application preparation workshops. We offer many volunteer opportunities exclusive to AED, including the Skippy program at Children's Hospital of Austin, Hospice volunteering, and Project Reach Out and Read. AED has a doctor shadowing program offered to our memebers for a variety of specialties. MCAT preparation scholarships and discounts are offered to our members.

Alpha Lambda Delta - FreshmenThe purpose of the society shall be to encourage superior scholastic attainment among women and men in their first year in institutions of higher education; to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals in life.Two initiations are held, one in the Fall for those students who have become eligible the preceeding semester(s), and one in the spring for those freshman students who have become eligible in the Fall semester. Alpha Psi Omega: The Mu ChapterTo stimulate interest in theatre activities at UT and to secure for UT all the advantages and mutual helpfulness provided by a large national honor society. Be electing students to membership, the society provides a reward for the participation in theatre activities of the university.Seminars for the student body of the department, fundraisers , & plays for shut-ins.
Beta Alpha PsiBeta Alpha Psi is a national honor society for financial information students and professionals. We aim to promote the study and practice of accounting and finance; provide opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals; and encourage a sense of ethical, social and public responsibilities.Company Presentations- Recruiters come to give professional presentations about their company, and the opportunities for students within that firm. Company Dinners- Representatives come to dine with members and recruit prospective candidates for their company. These dinners provide a more casual atmosphere to learn about different companies and are a great networking opportunity.
Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor SocietyThe purpose of the BBB Biological Honor Society shall be to function as an honor and professional society for students of the biological sciences. Its activities shall be designed to stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation in the biological sciences, and to promote the dissemination of information and new interpreta- tions among students for the life sciences.BBB Chapters have periodic meetins, listen to talks, demonstrations, and lectures by outside speakers, perform student services (maintain a tutoring program), perform services to the departments and school, and attempt to serve the community in various biological and ecological programs.

Consortium Fellows Business AssociationCFBA's purpose is to organize the collective efforts of Consortium fellows around maximizing their relationship with current and potential Consortium for Graduate Study in Management and corporate partners.CFBA's focus is on securing continued funding for UT fellowships and guaranteeing corporate interest in hiring fellows for full-time and internship opportunities. As such, CFBA's major activities include orientation for new fellows, corporate receptions for current fellows, phone-a-thon fund raising among UT consortium alumni, and the creation of a CFBA resume book.
Eta Kappa Nu - Elec Engineering (HKN)To honor outstanding electrical engineering students who have excelled in scholarship, character and leadership.Activities consist of a pledge period usually 4-8 weeks. Kappa Rho Pre-Medical Honors SocietyKappa Rho was founded in 2010 to bring women together who are interested in medicine and to give them the opportunity to explore that interest while meeting and making friends with people who have the same goals. Our goal is to create a medical society built upon the principles of leadership, academic excellence, service, community involvement, and a profound interest in the sciences.Major activities undertaken by Kappa Rho include doctor shadowing, volunteering in local hospitals, and visiting medical schools. We also make it a priority to be active and informed in the campus and local Austin community, especially in health related issues. Kappa Rho Honors Society's chief interest is the preparation of its members to meet the challenges and experiences offered by competitive medical schools.

LAH in Technicolor INACTIVEThis group's cause is to provide an environment and organization for film appreciation and movie nights within the Liberal Arts Honors program.THis organization is devoted to the cinematic vision and movies as an art form. That said, a variety of movies will be viewed- some less serious than the above, "movies as an art form," might suggest- but all in the hopes of learning something new about film.
Men of ExcellenceMen of Excellence is an organization built from experience. It is the premier organization that is focused primarily on building relationships with first and second year students to help them be successful in their college career. This is an organization that stands for leadership, mentorship, creativity, friendship, service, knowledge, and wisdom.As a new organization on campus we strive to have a presence in all communities. We would like our members to stay active and take interest in other organizations. We ask all members to commit to organizational meetings, mentor sessions, SIs (social interactions), SLPs (Service-Learning Projects), and academic hours. We will also hold an end of the year banquet for all members.

Our life-long bonds offer career networks. We support world-wide philanthropies, including Music Therapy, Music for the Blind, and Saving Music in our Schools. Mu Phi Epsilon advances American music through Original Composition Contests, Commissioned Works, and Artist concerts.
National Residence Hall Honorary (Texas Longhorn Chapter)This is UT's chapter of a National recognition-based service organization.Monthly awards called "OTMS," other service and recognition projects.
National Society of Collegiate ScholarsTo recognize and celebrate high achievement among first and second year students in all academic disciplines. To encourage and promote high standards. To provide opportunities for personal growth and leadership development for members. To provide scholarships to member(s) who successfully apply and compete for these awards. To organize and encourage learning opportunities through community service.Major activities include regular community service, an annual induction ceremony, March to College Day, PACE program with local high schools, and networking opportunities involving guest speakers.
Omega Chi Epsilon - Chemical EngineeringThe objective of Omega Chi Epsilon (OXE) is to recognize and promote high scholarship, original investigation, camaraderie, and professional service in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.To achieve the Society's purpose, OXE holds various service and social events throughout the year. Phi Eta Sigma - FreshmenFreshman Honor Society for men and women.Have Fall and Spring Initiation ceremonies where new members receive a fraternity pin certificate. In the Spring, a ceremony is followed by a banquet where we present Outstanding Freshman Teacher Award. Every two years there is also a National Convention where one delegate from the Texas fraternity gets an expense-paid trip.

Pi Tau Sigma - International Mechanical Engineering Honor SocietyThe object of the Texas Kappa chapter of Pi Tau Sigma shall be to encourage and recognize superior scholarship, to foster the high ideals of the mechanical engineering profession, to stimulate interest in and coordinate departmental activities, to promote the mutual professional welfare f its members, and to develop in students of mechanical engineering the attributes necessary for effective leadership and of taking up the responsibilities of a citizen living in a democracy.Functions focus on recognizing the achievement of Pi Tau Sigma members and promoting service to their peers, The Mechanical Engineering Dept., Th University of Texas at Austin, and the wider community. Examples of these are:advising underclassmen, encouraging undergraduate research, providing feedback to the ME dept., hosting industry speakers, encouraging cross-discipline collaboration, and numerous social events. The Texas Kappa chapter also maintains a functioning collection of miniature steam and gasoline engines for display in the ETC and at various outreach events.

Sigma Delta Pi - National Spanish Honor Society1) Honor those who seek and attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language and in the study of the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples.Sigma Delta Pi is the only honor society devoted exclusively to students of Spanish in 4 year colleges. Active chapters qualify for scholarships and grants funded by the national headquarters.
Sigma Gamma Tau - Aerospace EngineeringSigma Gamma Tau Society is established to recognize and honor those individuals in the field of aeronautics who have, through scholarship, integrity and outstanding achievement, been a credit to their pro- fession. The society seeks to foster a high standard of ethics and professonal practices and to create a spirit of loyalty and fellow- ship particularly among students of aeronautical engineering.Sigma Gamma Tau is primarily an honor society and its' activities center around the selection and initiation of new members. Picnics, banquets and similar functions are sponsored to support these activities. Special activities can be initiated by society members if desired.
Sigma Tau Delta - English INACTIVERecognize and promote excellence in English literary scholarship.Would like to help to solicit speakers for on campus lectures, sponsor a discussion section at which faculty members could speak, and provide a social setting for motivated students with similar interests in literature.
