Purpose: The SARC intends to sustain and develop lines of communication within the UT School of Architecture and to foster a more collaborative culture of engagement between faculty, students, and administration in the design and direction of the school. We seek to facilitate communication between the various disciplines within the school and all persons involved.
Membership: Members must be enrolled in the School of Architecture. Members must be elected by the SOA student body/appointed by the currently elected representatives as the student representative to the council.
Functions: The principal responsibility of any elected representative is to attend the School of Architecture Committee meetings as mandated by the university. Attendance of S.A.R.C meetings is also a required activity for all representatives.

- Legislative Student Organizations Graduate Student Assembly, Senate of College Councils and Student Government.
- Political Organizations support political parties, political issues and/or candidates who are seeking political office.
- Professional Organizations provide a preview of students' anticipated professional careers. Group activities may include speakers, field trips and volunteer or field work.
- Recreational Organizations promote sports-oriented programs and/or recreational activities.
- Religious Organizations serve as support for students of a particular religious persuasion or denomination.
- Service Organizations provide volunteers for on-campus and off-campus projects. Membership requirements generally include a commitment to work for and/or an interest in a particular cause.
- Social Organizations foster social networks among members.
- Special Interest Organizations focus on a specific issue or topic.
- Student Governance Organizations address student needs and express student views.
