Purpose: The official purpose of the Natural Sciences Council is to serve as a buffer zone between the students in the Natural Sciences College and the Natural Sciences faculty. We are in existence to help direct criticism of certain programs in the college, as well as making at- tempts to resolve the problems the students run into in their daily lives (if possible). We are only the measure of the students' needs of our services in the Natural Sciences College.
Membership: 1) Natural Sciences College member; 2) must apply and be accepted by the present council during membership drive; 3) willing to become an active member and take part in the council activities; 4) maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Each year, registered student organizations self-identify according to the following twelve categories:
- Educational/Departmental Organizations promote development in a particular academic area.
- Honorary Organizations recognize high-level academic achievement, and generally require a demonstrated interest in a particular career or academic discipline.
- International/Cultural Organizations foster cultural diversity and offer support to their members and the campus community.
- Legislative Student Organizations Graduate Student Assembly, Senate of College Councils and Student Government.
- Political Organizations support political parties, political issues and/or candidates who are seeking political office.
- Professional Organizations provide a preview of students' anticipated professional careers. Group activities may include speakers, field trips and volunteer or field work.
- Recreational Organizations promote sports-oriented programs and/or recreational activities.
- Religious Organizations serve as support for students of a particular religious persuasion or denomination.
- Service Organizations provide volunteers for on-campus and off-campus projects. Membership requirements generally include a commitment to work for and/or an interest in a particular cause.
- Social Organizations foster social networks among members.
- Special Interest Organizations focus on a specific issue or topic.
- Student Governance Organizations address student needs and express student views.
