Purpose: 1) Provides Hispanic pre-med, allied health, and pre-dent students with academic information, peer support, and cultural camaraderie. 2) Disseminates information concerning various health professions and programs and their application procedures. 3) Salient aspect of NCHO is the academic and personal support that lower-division students receive from upper-division and medical students.

Membership: Membership open to any UT student with a sincere interest in any of the health professions.

Functions: 1) Holds bimonthly meetings featuring guest speakers from respective health professions. 2) Sponsors medical/allied health school trips. 3) Socials which include parties, bowling, and intramural sports. 4) Community work such as an adopt-a-school program, and volunteering at hospitals and clinics. 5) Preceptorship program with Austin area hospitals. 6) Fundraisers include car washes, do-nut sales, and carnation sales; main purpose of fundraising is to contribute to our scholarship.
