Walk the Line INACTIVE	To build community through the art of slacklining, to unite UT slackliners, and to bring recreation and entertainment to the campus.	slacklining
White Rose Society	The White Rose Society is a holocaust remembrance and genocide awareness group. We are actively fighting to end the current genocide in Darfur. We are UT's official STAND (students taking action now Darfur) group. Join now to take a stand and promote awareness and action over apathy towards genocide.	Challah for Hunger-We bake and sell sweet bread for humanitarian aid for refugees from the conflict! Darfur 101-Learn and give presentations about Darfur. White Roses-We pass out 10,000 roses in memory of holocaust victims. Symposium-Hear speakers and participate in dialogues about human rights and genocide.
Whitis Court Residence Hall Council INACTIVE	We, the residents of the Living/Learning Halls are here in order to ensure cooperation, coordination among Living/Learning Hall residents and to pursue policies for the betterment of the residents.	We put on programs for the students so they have a chance to socialize and learn things about UT and help themselves.
Willie Nelson Center Students	To support the development of a Willie Nelson Conflict Resolution Center and educate students about and foster involvement in events and activities towards living a more peaceful life. Women for Women- Texas Chapter INACTIVE	Women for Women Texas Chapter provides women survivors of war, civil strife, and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies. We're changing the world one woman at a time.	We fundraise for women for Women International, as well as increase awareness of and outreach towards women in war-torn countries.
Women in Aerospace for Leadership and Development	To provide aerospace industry project-based leadership and development opportunities for undergraduate engineering students. The vision is that more women graduate with confidence and experience in the field of aerospace engineering.	We research, design, and develop one project a year that applies our engineering courses.
Women in Business Association	Women in Business Association (WBA) strives to increase our members' knowledge of and involvement in the world of business by inviting educated and experienced women to speak and share advice with our organization. Members are encouraged to interact with our invited speakers as to promote both rapport within our organization, as well as an increased understanding of what it is like to have a business career.	(1) Educate women about practical business issues (including but not limited to discrimination and/or harassment in the workplace, proper business etiquette, dress in the workplace, and creating an effective work-life balance). (2) Provide a source for networking for our members both with each other via social events, as well as with the outside business world via our speakers. (3) Establish a reputation in the Austin community through related philanthropic activities. (4) Offer an additional social outlet within UT Austin.
Women in Chemistry - Iota Sigma Pi	WIC's purpose is to help promote the professional and personal growth of women in chemistry (and other related physical sciences) through formation of supportive networks, recognition and communication to public of female graduates. Student concerns to UT officials, and greater exposure to female role models.	As WIC, we hope to (i) increase the number of visiting women lecturers (ii) provide a supportive environment for women to discuss their science and related issues concerning women in science (iii) develope a seminar series dealing strictly with women in science events/issues of professional development (iv) influence UT's awareness of UT female graduate/faculty and undergrad female scientists concerns (v) recruiting female graduate students (vi) cool science field trips.

Women in Communication Leadership Network INACTIVE	Facilitating meaningful connections and creating opportunities. focused on mentoring future generations and connecting with those who have come before us. Women in Computer Science	To provide opportunities for professional and personal growth through networking, activities, on technical and career-oriented topics and social events.	Company night, guest speakers, bi-weekly meetings, socials, etc. TAY 1.122
Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Women in ECE)	The purpose of the women in ECE is to reach out and engage women from all levels in the department - from undergraduate to graduate to faculty. This group will foster a network within ECE that will serve professional, social, and academic purposes. Women in ECE is open to men and women.	Women in ECE hosts social events for members to form a community. The organization will also hold professional and technically relevant events that will help students succeed.
Women in Foreign Affairs	To promote the role of women in diplomacy and foreign affairs	Meetings every two weeks. Guest Speakers, internship opportunities, mentorship program.
Women in Mechanical Engineering (WME)	The WME organization exists to create opportunities for women in the mechanical engineering department to build lasting networking relationships with other undergraduate, graduate, and faculty women.	Each week WME members connect at social, educational, or service oriented event to discuss issues such as research, writing, presentation skills, homework, graduate school, funding, etc.
Women in Medicine	- To promote awareness of issues pertaining to women in all medical fields. - To provide fellowship and support for those interested in these issues. - To provide programs and extra-curricular activities for members of WIM.	We host guest speakers from different aspects of the health care field. We participate in numerous volunteer events, such as Kite Fest, Girl Start, and Crazy Science Extravaganza. We hold various social events, such as a winter banquet, a paintball social, and a boat party at the end of the year.
Women in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering	To provide a platform for women in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering to socialize and network amongst each other, to help encourage the growth of women in the PGE community, and to learn about the roles women play in the energy industry.	We will have mainly social activities (picnics, socials, study sessions) and some low pressure networking activities (information, lectures, classes, networking dinners). We will also create an interactive advice bank for academic collaboration within the student body.
Women in Psychology	To establish a platform for discussion about multi-cultural and women's issues in psychology and to provide an opportunity for students to interact with professionals from the mental health field. These professionals include those employed outside of the university, as well as university faculty and staff. We also make students aware of volunteer and job opportunities in psychology and related fields in the Austin area.	Discussions with psychology professionals from the Austin area. Women in Science	As a local affiliate of the Association for Women in Science, WIS provides a community for women interested in science by offering various educational, outreach, and social opportunities.	WIS hosts bi-weekly meetings which include speakers on various science-related topics. We also encourage involvement in on-campus activities and projects that encourage young girls to pursue science and math.
Women Volunteers of America INACTIVE	Service group to promote better women health.	Volunteers to promote better women health.
Women's & Gender Studies Organization	Working with the CWGS, to promote interest and awareness of WGS events, educational opportunities, issues with in the discipline and provide support and mentorship for undergraduates and graduates.	Bi-weekly/monthly meetings discussing WGS readings; mentoring undergraduates, encouraging interest and activity with in the greater WGS community with trips to movies, museums and lectures. WWH 408
Women's Law Caucus	Seek to function as a support group for women law students, including social activities and education on women's issues in the Law School and the general community. Women's Transportation Seminar - Texas Student Chapter	WTS aims to promote the advancement of women in the transportation industry at the academic level, through fellowship among students interested in a professional career related to transportation.	Major activities include monthly meetings, seminars with guest speakers, networking/social events, field trips, and volunteer/field work.
World Vision ACT:S Texas	To raise awareness about social injustices and mobilized students at UT campus to take action and to help end poverty, injustice, and human suffering. Also to explore how Christian faith relates to seeking justice for those who are oppressed and in need.	General meetings, creative activism, community engagement and outreach

Categories of UT Austin Registered Student Organizations
Each year, registered student organizations self-identify according to the following twelve categories:

Educational/Departmental Organizations promote development in a particular academic area.
Honorary Organizations recognize high-level academic achievement, and generally require a demonstrated interest in a particular career or academic discipline.
International/Cultural Organizations foster cultural diversity and offer support to their members and the campus community.
Legislative Student Organizations Graduate Student Assembly, Senate of College Councils and Student Government.
Political Organizations support political parties, political issues and/or candidates who are seeking political office.
Professional Organizations provide a preview of students' anticipated professional careers. Group activities may include speakers, field trips and volunteer or field work.
Recreational Organizations promote sports-oriented programs and/or recreational activities.
Religious Organizations serve as support for students of a particular religious persuasion or denomination.
Service Organizations provide volunteers for on-campus and off-campus projects. Membership requirements generally include a commitment to work for and/or an interest in a particular cause.
Social Organizations foster social networks among members.
Special Interest Organizations focus on a specific issue or topic.
Student Governance Organizations address student needs and express student views.
