| Native American & Indigenous Student Assembly (NAISA) | The Native American and Indigenous Student Assembly (NAISA) is a student lead organization at the University of Texas at Austin founded in 2012 with the principles of native empowerment, research, transnational and intertribal unity, scholarship and community. We focus on the issues of indigenous students of Texas, while forming alliances and networks with students across the US and Latin America. Together we can become the next political leaders, activists and advocates for our respective communities across the globe. Additionally, NAISA seeks to bridge the gap between indigenous students and elders recognizing our responsibility to maintain our cultures, spiritualities and teachings. | Our organization will focus in organizing workshops, educational forums, community gatherings and other activities with the goal of empowering and providing network opportunities for native students.
