Hang Out INACTIVEHangOut is an organization that seeks to provide a welcoming social environment for all incoming and current GLBTQ students and their allies. We hold weekly gatherings and semester events that are a great way to meet people and forge new friendships. Our weekly gatherings are Coffee (wednesday nights at 10 p.m. to 12 midnight) and picnic (Fridays, at the turtle pond, can come and go between 12 noon and 3 p.m.). Health Behavior and Health Education Student AssociationThe purpose of this organization is to gather graduate students with a Health Behavior and Health Education major, as well as anyone else that is interested that would like to get involved in community service and further develop professionally.Some of the major activities that will be taking place will be fundraising monies for club related expenses, weekend activities to foster club cohesiveness, and service events to give back to the community.
Health Careers Mentorship Program ( HCMP )The program is established to teach mature students about the clinical and non-clinical aspects of the health care system. Selected individuals will develop communal relationships with the Austin community, and they will gain valuable and practical experiences. The health professionals will play an instrumental role in the development of tomorrow's practitioners as mentors for HCMP interns. This program provides an environment that fosters intellectual growth, ethical ideals, and business values.This educational program is designed to allow committed students: gain insights into the practical aspects of the health care field, build rapport with health professionals, learn about the impact of managed care, apply their gained knowledge towards making career decisions, develop interpersonal and technical skills, and acquire leadership experience through administration of the program. Information sessions are held during the middle of the spring and fall semesters.

Helping HandsThe purpose of Helping Hands is to support educational opportunities and promote healthy living conditions by contributing financial support and supplies to underprivileged schools and orphanages in China and Southeast Asia.The organization fundraises for underprivileged schools in Southeast Asia such as the BoAi School in China. We provide medical supplies and hygienic products for target schools. We have annual trips to China and Cambodia to promote the correct use of these products and help provide medical awareness.
Helping Hornz INACTIVEWe exist to provide Longhorns an opportunity to give back to the community around them. We are a solely service-based organization dedicated to making the world a better place, with members who are role models and passionate servant leaders. Our mission is simply "to create positive change" in our local community and beyond, and our motto is "changing community, one at a time."We want to participate in already established volunteer activities, such as Relay for Life, Adopt-a-Kiosk, Waller Creek Clean-up, as well as create new ones. We have begun a partnership with Ridgetop Elementary School to mentor its students. The mentorship program is currently our focus for community outreach. We are always receptive to new ideas.

Hindu Students AssociationThe Hindu Students Association arms to cultivate and foster cross-cultural dialogue and interaction on issues that pertain to Hindus domestically and globally, empower young Hindu adults through education, improve the level of representation at colleges/universities with organizational activities, as well as participation in other organizations and in the media, and build a network amongst younger Hindus.HSA has meetings every week on various topics that fall under the umbrella of Hinduism. We also throw large-scale events for Navratri, Diwali, and Holi. We host a Hinduism Awareness Week as well, and have an Indian classical arts showcase called Milan. We have other smaller events throughout the school year.
