Gateway Mentor Program The purpose of the Gateway Peer Mentoring Program is to develop mentoring relationships with freshmen Gateway Scholars to collaboratively strategize with them to help overcome academic and social challenges associated with their first year of college. GEELOGEELO (Geological Energy and Environmental Leadership Organization) The purpose of GEELO is to educate the student body to topics that may not be fully expressed in UGS, and also to promote awareness of careers that can come out from these topics. GEELO will hold bi-monthly lectures and events, which will focus on the following areas of study: Energy Mitigation/ Energy Return on Energy Invested/ Peak oil, Gas, Coal, Uranium The upcoming hydrologic problems/ Groundwater processes Climatic changes and implications on the world/ Sustainability/ Paleoclimate research Future job/Internship opportunities for Undergraduates Linking science and policy UT professors/staff will give presentations on these specific topics and (if applicable) will discuss howtheir research is pertinent. Global Leadership CenterThe Global Leadership Center (GLC) is founded as a collaborative effort of student organizations in the arena of international involvement, awareness, and exchange. Global Public Health Brigades at The University of Texas at AustinTo empower Honduran communities to prevent common illnesses through in home infrastructural development, community leader training, and health education.Once or twice a year, during winter, summer, or spring break, a group of volunteers travel to Honduras on public health brigades, we spend seven days in-country and serve rural communities.

Gottlieb Lecture SeriesThe graduate students of the Institute for Cell and Molecular Biology would like to establish a new distinguished speaker series at UT. The purpose is to bring inspirational scientist for speaking engagements on relevant scientific achievements and to share experiences in the development of modern biology.The main activity of the club is to host visiting scientists. During their stay we will show them campus, the city of Austin, and take them to dinner. There will also be a student dinner the evening of the talk. This provides graduate students the opportunity to personally interact with a noble laureate or highly regarded speaker in an informal setting.

Graduate Engineering CouncilThe primary purpose of the GEC is to represent the interests of the graduate engineers at The University of Texas at Austin. The GEC fulfills this purpose, serving as a liaison between the Office of the Dean of Engineering, the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies and graduate engineers in the College of Engineering.The GEC engages in appropriate activities promoting the general welfare of the graduate engineers at The University o Texas at Austin. Graham and Dodd Investment GroupOur investment group aims to teach and explore the investing principles of Benjamin Graham and David Dodd, the original "intelligent investors": dollar cost averaging, value investing, reinvestment of earnings and diversification of securities.We will hold several meetings a semester with speakers from successful value investing firms. We will also hold an intraclub competition on a "play money" stock market website awarding the highest earnings in a diversified portfolio with a prize.

Graveyard Play INACTIVEGraveyard Play seeks to perform a devised theatrical piece with an ensemble composed of UT students that asks the question, "What happens to the memory of our secrets after we die?" Graveyard Play will be performed between April 26- May 5 2013.The Graveyard Play ensemble will workshop and develop a site specific piece, generate original text, seek academic advisement from their professors, undergo a rehearsal process and perform six shows for the public.

Grupo Flor y CantoGrupo Flor y Canto is an education performance troupe focused on dance forms with roots in Latin America. Our members and performances also include musicians and poets. Each fall we host Las Calaeas, a free educational event for the campus community with a Dia de los Muertos theme. Each spring we host Fandango, which is also a free educational event for the campus community.Grupo Flor y Canto is committed to cultural education, and for that reason we organize a collaborative production each semester.
Guild of Student CarillonneursThe Guild seeks to: maintain a regular ringing schedule of the Kniker Carillon during the academic year; to further the musical education of its members through performance and instruction; to perform at official functions of the university; and to encourage general interest in the Carillon at the University of Texas.The Guild performs mini-concerts weekly on the Kniker Carillon as well as giving a larger concert at least once a semester. The Guild would also like to see the Carillon become more integral to official functions at the university as well as daily life.
