| FACE AIDS Austin | FACE AIDS Austin is about uniting our efforts as students for a greater cause. A cause that has affected every dimension of life. FACE AIDS was founded in 2005 by three Standford Students and it has grown to over 210 chapters across the U.S. in colleges and high-schools. We as students and members of FACE AIDS Austin are apart of movement of mobilized youth to create change, raise awareness, and help eradicate the HIV/AIDS epidemic. | FACE AIDS Austin has two main events that we host annually, World AIDS Week and Condom Couture. World AIDS Week is a week-long event raising awareness about AIDS and commemorating those who've been affected by HIV/AIDS.Condom Couture is a fashion show that aims to recognize and provoke thought about gender inequity, global health, and HIV/AIDS. This fashion show entices student participation by challenging designers to create outfits out of condoms. Additionally, we table to sell pins created in Rwanda, and volunteer in the Austin community. |
| Falun Dafa Association | Falun Gong also known as Falun Dafa is a traditional high-level Qigong practice from China. One cultivates the heart in following the universal characteristics of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" (Zhen Shan Ren) and one also practices 5 gentle, slow, easy to learn exercises (one of which is a sitting meditation). Falun Dafa puts emphasis on developing a righteous mind, harmonious relationships at home and at work. | Financial Literacy Advisory Board | Bevonomics is a financial literacy program. We host as well as develop workshops that pertain to financial literacy topic. | Fine Arts Council | Fine Arts Council serves as the voice of the students of the College of Fine Arts, to the faculty and administration of the University. Through representation at thr University functions or projects that we conduct - we are able to bring about awareness of the arts of our environment. By serving and leading, we hope to make the arts a part part of everyday life. | We actively recruit new members year round and provide rewards based on a fun system. The conference has traditionally drawn international and national scholars to debate various media related issues.
