Who can attend Summer Orientation?
Freshman and transfer students admitted to the fall semester, enrolled into a college and who have satisfied their enrollment deposit can attend Summer Orientation, contingent upon space availability.
When is Summer Orientation?
Summer Orientation consists of six two-and-a-half day sessions for fall freshmen and three one-and-a-half day sessions for transfer students, scheduled from early June through mid-July. All new students entering in the fall semester are encouraged to attend Summer Orientation.
Do I need to register for Summer Orientation?
Yes, registration is required, if you plan on attending. If you are not able to attend Summer Orientation you should plan to attend the Fall Orientation, on August 22-23, 2012.
When Can I Register?
Registration opens on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Reservations are made on a first-reserve basis. Space is limited and reservations are contingent upon space availability.
Is a fee required to attend Summer Orientation?
Yes. The cost of Summer Orientation depends on whether you choose to live in a residence hall while attending the program are commuting.
Are housing accommodations and meals provided?
If you have registered and paid for housing accommodations through your Summer Orientation online registration you will receive a Conference Meal Card when you check in to housing during your Orientation Check-in.
How can I access a schedule of events for Summer Orientation?
The program schedule will not be accessible until the registration opens in early February at www.utorientation.com.
Will I be able to take placement tests?
The only placement tests offered during Summer Orientation are the foreign language tests French, German and Spanish.

What if I need accommodations due to a disability?
If you have a documented disability and require special assistance during orientation testing, contact Services for Students with Disabilities at 512-471-6259 and CTL-Student Testing Services at 512-232-2662 at least two weeks before your assigned session to make arrangements.

Should I bring my laptop?
You can. Avoid standing in line and use your laptop to register for classes on the last day of orientation. Directions on how to access the university wireless network will be provided at the time of registration.
