Only students will be allowed to attend the Welcome/Registration Information Meeting on January 9, from 8-10 a.m., due to limited seating. To accommodate family members and guests during this time, they will be directed to Burdine Hall, Room 112 to meet with orientation staff for a question and answer period.
Family members and guests are welcome to attend the optional programs between 1-5 p.m. with their student.
When is Spring Orientation?
Spring Orientation is scheduled for Monday, January 9, 2012.
Do I need to register for orientation?
Yes. New or readmitted students admitted for the spring semester should plan to attend orientation. Attendance is not mandatory, but students are strongly encouraged to attend as there will be information provided that will prepare them for registration.

Is a fee required to attend Spring Orientation?
No additional fee is required to attend, but you will need to register for Spring Orientation.
When can I register for classes?
Registration for new and readmitted students runs from Tuesday, January 10 through Friday, January 13, 2012. Refer to your Registration Information Sheet to view your available access times.
Are there immunization requirements I have to meet before I can register for classes?
Yes! Entering UT Austin students are automatically barred from registering for classes until University Health Services (UHS) has received and processed acceptable documentation that they have had a meningococcal (bacterial meningitis) vaccine that was administered during the five year period prior to, but no later than 10 days before, the first day of classes of the semester they will enter UT Austin. Some exclusions and exemptions apply. The first class day is Tuesday, January 17, 2012 for the spring.
Please make all attempts to submit your documentation to UHS at least two weeks before your registration date. As added assurance against registration delays, make a copy of the documents you send to UHS, and bring it with you to Orientation.

Are housing accommodations and meals provided?
No. However, if you have a confirmed Housing contract, contact the Division of Housing and Food Services for more information.
Is parking provided during Spring Orientation?
No. Parking is available at a hourly rate per entry at the UT Austin garages. Specific information regarding UT Parking Garages and hourly rates can be found at http://www.utexas.edu/parking.
Will I be able to take placement tests?
If you need to sign up for placement tests or have questions regarding placement testing, contact the CTL/Student Testing Services Web site at CTL-Student Testing Services or by telephone at 512-232-2662.
What if I need accommodations due to a disability?
If you have a documented disability and require special assistance during orientation testing, contact Services for Students with Disabilities at 512-471-6259 and CTL-Student Testing Services at 512-232-2662 at least two weeks before your assigned session to make arrangements.
