2013 Late Summer Orientation FAQs
PACE students who did not attend the orientation in June may register to attend the Late Summer Orientation.
Is orientation mandatory for freshman?
If you have accepted your offer of admissions into the PACE program, you will be required to attend the Late Summer Orientation.
Is a fee required to attend the Late Summer Orientation for PACE students?
No additional fee is required to attend.
Registration is required. Registration closes Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at midnight.
Where can I access a schedule of events for the Late Summer Orientation?
When and Where will I check in?
Check-in on August 21, 2013, between 7-8 a.m.
All students must check in at Hogg Memorial Auditorium (HMA)
What should I bring to orientation?

does NOT provide housing accommodations during the Late Summer Orientation
All entering Fall freshman students are required to complete a series of online modules prior to attending orientation. These modules contain information essential to your transition to the university. The modules will be available in late spring on this web site. You will receive an email when you are able to access them.
Please note: If you do not complete the required modules you will not be able to check-in to orientation.
Are there immunization requirements I have to meet before I can register for classes?
Immunizations must be submitted according to the ACC guidelines as well as at UT Austin.
Entering UT Austin students who will be age 29 or younger on the first day of classes of fall 2013 (8/28/13) are barred from registering for classes
They have had a meningococcal (bacterial meningitis) vaccine, and
The vaccine was administered within five years of the first day of classes of fall 2013 (on or after 8/28/08)
Submit your documentation to UHS at least two weeks before your course registration date.
Make a copy of the documents you send to UHS, and bring it with you to orientation just in case.

What if I need accommodations due to a disability?

Request housing accommodations during orientation, complete form at
SSD assists students with AD/HD, learning disabilities, medical conditions, physical disabilities, visual disabilities, psychological disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, autistic spectrum disorder and temporary disabilities, as well as students who are deaf and hard of hearing
Requests for accessible copies of orientation publications or interpreter services
Submit request to New Student Services no less than two weeks before your assigned session

Look for one of UT Austin's guard stations
Guard stations are located near almost every campus entrance
Guards at these stations will be able to direct you accordingly
