Come to an Orientation Session, and we'll take care of the rest! Our friendly staff will answer all your questions about UT Austin, help you become acquainted with UT Austin, register for classes, take placement tests, get to know your fellow classmates, meet with a representative from your college/school and find ways to have fun! You will have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor, obtain your student ID and upgrade your UT EID, set up your e-mail account, and learn about how you can get involved at UT Austin.
All new freshman students entering in the fall semester are required to attend a Summer Orientation session (based upon availability) or Fall Orientation. Registration for Fall Orientation will open on July 9, 2012.
Current Programs
- Offers fall-admitted freshmen and transfer students the earliest opportunity to register for classes
- Consists of 6 two-and-a-half day sessions for fall freshmen and 3 one-and-a-half day sessions for transfer students, scheduled from early June through mid-July each year (subject to change)

- This one-day-only program is offered the first day of each Freshman Summer Orientation session, but is not offered during Summer School, Transfer, Spring or Fall Orientation sessions.
