Order of Omega is a national fraternity that seeks to recognize outstanding fraternity and sorority men and women who have excelled in academic and leadership endeavors. This Greek leadership honorary recognizes juniors and seniors who have displayed outstanding scholarship, involvement and leadership within the campus community. The University of Texas at Austin's Order of Omega is a chapter within the National Order of Omega.
The National Order of Omega was founded at the University of Miami in the fall of 1959 by a group of outstanding fraternity men who felt that individuals in the sorority and fraternity community should be recognized for their service to the fraternity system and the university.
Each year, this organization also coordinates GLIE's Order of Omega Awards, which recognize individual and organizational excellence in risk management education and programming, scholarship, as well as leadership development.
