Greek, Leadership and Intercultural Education in the Office of the Dean of Students facilitates a variety of programs for the chapter officers and members of UT Austin's sororities and fraternities. Student committees within the Greek community coordinate many of these programs. Through new member programs, leadership retreats and diversity education, Greek, Leadership and Intercultural Education strives to educate students about critical issues facing the campus community and enhance student leadership skills. Order of Omega A national Greek leadership honorary that annually recognizes juniors and seniors for outstanding scholarship, leadership and involvement in the campus community.
Greek 101 A required program for fraternity and sorority new members that presents information intended to challenge them to accept the responsibilities of being a member of UT Austin's Greek community.
Greek Leadership Issues Course This three-hour class is an upper division elective taught through the Department of Educational Psychology (EDP 369K) each semester. Fraternity and sorority members who take this class learn about the critical issues leaders can face within the Greek community.
Greek Leadership Retreat An annual student-led program held in the spring semester, Greek Leadership Retreat is designed to assist current and potential Greek community leaders develop and refine their leadership skills.
Greek Awards: Greek, Leadership and Intercultural Education, the Office of the Vice President, the Office of the Dean of Students and the Order of Omega recognize outstanding chapter and individual accomplishments at the annual spring awards banquet.
GLIE Spotlight Each semester, Greek, Leadership and Intercultural Education honors the Greek community's outstanding students. Recipients of this award are "spotlighted" in The Daily Texan for their exemplary community service, academic achievement and involvement, within the Greek community and campus-wide.
Good Standing: "Good Standing" is a recognition system designed to acknowledge chapters that are making outstanding contributions to a healthy and thriving Greek community. The achievements of organizations in "Good Standing" include the following:
