Legends of China - The Silk Road to the Future

The Division of Student Affairs proudly presents an educational and cultural exchange program offered through the Office of the Dean of Students. This newly launched initiative aims to enrich the educational experience by providing opportunities for students from around the world to share their stories, vision, and learning experiences with the students of The University of Texas at Austin.

The 2008 program, known as the Silk Road to the Future, is in partnership with the Beijing Educational Committee and the Legends of China Foundation. These two organizations coordinate opportunities for profound academic dialogue among the students, faculty and staff participating in this educational exchange program. Participants are afforded valuable opportunities to gain cultural awareness while visiting China, interacting with peers, touring the many historical sites and attending lectures presented at Beijing's finest universities.

Since 2001, The University of California and other elite universities have sent over 3,500 students, faculty and staff to China as Ambassadors of Peace. The University of Texas at Austin's Office of the Dean of Students extends an invitation to students, faculty and staff interested in participating in the 2008 program as Peace Ambassadors.

The deadline has been extended to May 1, 2008 for UT Austin participants. For additional information, please visit the Legends of China Web site at www.legendsofchina.com or call the Office of the Dean of Students at 471-5017.
