FACES - Fund for Academic Campus Engagement and Support

The Office of the Dean of Students (DoS) is proud to offer the Fund for Academic Campus Engagement and Support (FACES). FACES provides monetary support to student-sponsored events that have an academic focus. The goal of the fund is to promote out-of-the-classroom intellectual discourse and critical thinking opportunities for the students of UT Austin. Student groups applying for the award are encouraged to be creative and thoughtful when planning their events.

Eligibility

The FACES award is only available to registered student organizations (RSOs) in good standing with the university. Sponsored student organizations will not be eligible for FACES. FACES-funded events must be open to currently enrolled UT Austin students, and must be held on or near the UT Austin campus.

Guidelines

  • Up to $500 per event may be requested for events sponsored by registered student organizations (RSO).
  • Events co-sponsored by more than one RSO will still only be eligible for up to $500.
  • RSOs may apply for FACES once per academic year, with preference given to organizations that have not previously received funding.
  • All FACES-funded items must be purchased by the Office of the Dean of Students, and all vendors must be approved by Student Activities in the Office of the Dean of Students.
  • All printed or digital advertising or informational materials must include:
    • DoS logo, available for download here
    • "Office of the Dean of Students | Division of Student Affairs | The University of Texas at Austin"
  • FACES will not cover the following items: food, beverages, t-shirts, travel, registration fees, fundraisers, gifts, and/or closed or strictly social events.
  • DoS reserves the right to deny funding for items deemed inappropriate and/or in conflict with the mission of the fund.

Deadlines

To be eligible for spring semester 2013 funds, applications for FACES must be submitted by February 4, 2013.

Application/Evaluation

Registration has ended for the FACES award.

You are also required to complete the online FACES evaluation within 7 business days of your event. The evaluation is an important because it offers a way for you to evaluate your event and it will allow DoS to assess the impact of FACES.
