Parking & Site Information

Event Location

The unveiling and dedication ceremony will be held in the Main and West Mall of the campus. These outdoor areas are located directly to the south and west of the Main Building (MAI).

Outdoor seating for the ceremony will be located on the Main Mall just south of the Main Building (indicated by the red arrow in the picture below):

Indoor seating for the ceremony will be located in the Texas Union Theater (UNB 2.228) located in Union Building (indicated by the red arrow in the picture below):

Parking Information

The campus offers daily parking for visitors in one of eight parking garages. Anyone may park in the university garages on a paid basis, and no permit is required. Garage daily parking offers the closest, most convenient spaces to all areas of the University for visitors and students. Permits are required to park in all surface parking areas on campus. Cars parked on campus without a Valid UT Austin permit are subject to the issuance of a citation.

We recommend that visitors for the César Chávez Statue Unveiling Ceremony park in either the Manor or Trinity parking garages. The Trinity Parking Garage (TRG) will be available at NO CHARGE from 10 AM to 3PM on October 9, 2007 on a first-come, first-serve basis. Brazos Garage (BRG)	210 E. MLK Blvd. Brazos Garage is located between MLK and Jester Circle.
Convenient to:	Jester, Moore-Hill, Brackenridge, Roberts, and Prather Residence Halls; the Perry-Castaneda Library; the University Teaching Center; the College of Business Administration; the Graduate School of Business; the George I. Sanchez Education Building; Gregory Gym; Clark Field; the Recreational Sports Center; and the Texas Swimming Center
Manor Garage (MAG)	2017 Robert Dedman Dr. Manor Garage is on the Robert Dedman Drive, directly across the street from Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium.
Convenient to:	Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium, Bellmont Hall, the Moncrief-Neuhaus Center, the Performing Arts Center, the University Police Building, Sid Richardson Hall, the LBJ Library, and other east campus areas
San Antonio Garage (SAG)	2420 San Antonio Street. San Antonio Garage is between 24th and 25th Streets.
Convenient to:	West Campus, Guadalupe Street, the West Mall, the Union, Flawn Academic Center, the Main Building, the Communications Building, and the Faculty Center
San Jacinto Garage (SJG)	2401 San Jacinto Boulevard. San Jacinto Garage is between 24th and Dean Keeton (formerly 26th) Streets.
Convenient to:	Performing Arts Plaza and Complex, Winship, the Engineering Complex, Simkins Residence Hall, the Music School, the Law School, the Art Building, and the science labs
Speedway Garage (SWG)	105 E. 27th Street. Speedway Garage is on the corner of 27th and Speedway.
Convenient to:	Chemical & Petroleum Engineering; Kinsolving, Littlefield, Carothers, Blanton, and Andrews Dormitories; Ernest Cockrell Jr. Hall; Living Learning Centers; and the Student Services Building
Trinity Garage (TRG)	1815 Trinity St. Trinity garage is located on the corner of MLK and Trinity.
Convenient to:	ERWIN CENTER, Nursing, Jester and San Jacinto Residence Halls, the Jamail Texas Swimming Center, the Collections Deposit Library, the Penick-Allison Tennis Center, and the School of Social Work.
27th St. Garage (TSG)	109 W. 27th Street. 27th St. garage is on the corner of University Blvd. and 27th St.
Convenient to:	Student Services Building, the Measurement and Evaluation Center, Kinsolving Resident Hall, the Women's Co-op, the Student Health Center, Burdine Hall, Littlefield Dormitory, and the Jesse H. Jones Communications Center
