360 CONNECTIONS create opportunities for students to quickly orient themselves and plot their course on The University of Texas at Austin campus. Each Connection is a small, intimate group of freshmen that meet regularly to help bring their UT experience full circle. Students will build a supportive community where they will gain an understanding of academic integrity, leadership, UT Austin’s spirit and traditions, and campus resources. Join the Longhorn community for official events aimed at celebrating The University of Texas at Austin’s traditions, history and facts during the week of Oct. 7-11, 2013 culminating with the Texas-OU football game! Longhorn Traditions Week is part of the 360 Connections initiative aimed at connecting first-year students with the campus and community.
Sept. 26 - Oct. 12: 17 Days of Longhorn Pride A social media campaign coordinated through the Office of the Dean of Students (DoS) for the Class of 2017 highlights a variety of UT Austin traditions and facts for 17 days leading up to the game.
Monday, Sept. 30 - Tuesday, Oct. 8: “Where’s HOOK ‘EM?”
Venue: Throughout campus
Clues will be given out about the location of a Hook ‘Em cutout. Students who find the cutout are encouraged to post their picture with it to Twitter, Facebook or send an e-mail using the hashtag #WheresHookEm to be entered into a drawing. Grand-prize winners will receive a UT Austin class ring and be announced at the Torchlight Parade on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Monday, Oct. 7 - Wednesday, Oct. 9: Spirit Banner Competition
Venue: Chapter houses and approved banner spaces
DoS Sorority and Fraternity Life will coordinate a banner competition for all sororities and fraternities to display their school spirit. Winning chapters will be announced at the Torchlight Parade.
Monday, Oct. 7 (5 - 10 p.m.): “Explore Your Campus”
Venue: UT Austin Tower, Steps of the Main Mall, and Texas Union Underground
Learn more by experiencing your campus! Take a Tower Tour, Moonlight Prowl tour or bowl in the Texas Union Underground. These activities are free for students on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tower Tours - Tours will begin at 5:00 pm on Circle Drive, (between the FAC and Main building, on the west side of the tower). Tickets will be handed out on a first come first served basis starting at 5:00 pm. The Last tour will begin at 8:00 pm. Please do not bring any bags or backpacks as they will not be allowed on the tour. Tuesday, Oct. 8, (6 - 8 p.m.): Picnic and Concert on the Main Mall
Venue: Main Mall
Join the campus for a picnic on the Main Mall and enjoy a concert by the Guild of Student Carillonneurs. Faculty, staff and students can make requests the week prior using the hashtag #PlayTheTower. Take pictures with Smokey the Cannon, meet student organizations and enjoy free food while it lasts!

Plain and simple, everyone wears burnt orange to show support for our Longhorns!

Join the UT Austin Residence Halls Program Team in a pep rally before the Torchlight Parade. There will be cheers, trivia and prizes!

Venue: Main Mall
The Texas Exes Student Leadership Committee will host the Annual UT Austin vs. OU Torchlight parade and rally. The parade will march down Guadalupe Street and will end at the steps of the Tower where the rally will take place. Come cheer on your team before they make the journey to Dallas to take on OU!
